A Little Late…

After 47 years of marriage, Phil Robertson has finally done the honorable thing and has gotten Miss Kay a wedding ring. Sadie Robertson, Phil and Kay’s granddaughter Tweeted “After 50 years of marriage Papaw Phil finally gave Mamaw Kay a wedding ring for Christmas” and included a picture of Miss Kay showing off the ring and Phil proudly pointing to it.

Earlier this year on the Duck Dynasty show, Phil and Kay renewed their wedding vows and had the wedding ceremony that they never had 47 years ago. Apparently, even in the renewal, Phil didn’t give Kay a ring. Oh well, I guess it’s better late than never…

Just Godwin and Mountain Man

I’m getting a little sick of the Phil Robertson controversy, so I’ve decided to lighten up a little with a couple of videos featuring Godwin and Mountain Man giving testimony.

Phil Robertson Not Backing Off

The Daily Mail is reporting that Phil Robertson will not “give or back off”.   On Sunday, Phil ended the Bible study class he led with a prayer that include “I will not give or back off from my path because you conquered death, Father, so we are not worried about all the repercussions.”

Earlier in the class, someone thanked him for saying what he said in the GQ Magazine article that got him in trouble with gay rights groups.  His response was “I didn’t think much of it at all, but it seems a lot of other people did.”

Phil defended his comments by saying,  “I am just reading what was written over 2,000 years ago. Those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom. All I did was quote from the scriptures, but they just didn’t know it...

Cracker Barrel Reverses Its Decision

Cracker Barrel has reversed its earlier decision to remove Duck Dynasty items from its shelves. On Saturday they wrote “We removed selected products which we were concerned might offend some of our guests while we evaluate the situation.” Now they have re-evaluated that decision and will be returning the items to their shelves. “When we made the decision to remove and evaluate certain Duck Dynasty items, we offended many of our loyal customers. Our intent was to avoid offending, but that’s just what we’ve done,” the company wrote. “You flat out told us we were wrong. We listened. People weren’t shy. They wrote, called and took to social media.”

So it appears that joining forces and letting your opinion be known does work to change things sometimes...

All in God’s Hands

Since the Robertson clan is vocal about their religious beliefs, it stands to reason that many of their fans feel the same way. Since the suspension of Phil Robertson, many of the fans of the show have posted comments and emailed us about what they think of this whole mess. It appears that the common theme in the replies is GOd. If fact, Sadie Robertson, granddaughter of Phil and a member of the cast of Duck Dynasty, had this say in a tweet on Thursday:

Missy Robertson, cast member and wife of Jase tweeted this:

We Want Phil Back!

A new Facebook page is demanding a boycott of A&E Television until A&E brings Phil back to the show.  The Facebook page “Boycott A&E Until Phil Robertson is Put Back on Duck Dynasty” is in response to A&E suspension from the show because of comments he made in a GQ Magazine article  ( see Phil Robertson Suspended From Duck Dynasty Indefinitely ).   They ask that we don’t watch any A&E show until Phil is re-instated.  Although the page is only a little over 1 day old, it has already racked up 1.1 million likes.

Apparently there are a lot of people who either share Phil’s beliefs or they believe that Phil should be free to express them...

Phil Robertson Suspended From Duck Dynasty Indefinitely

Phil Robertson and been suspended from the Duck Dynasty show  for an indefinite period of time according to A&E Television.   Comments he made in GQ Magazine article sparked outrage in the gay and lesbian community, with GLAAD demanding to know if A&E supported Phil’s comments (see “GLAAD Not Happy, Happy, Happy”).   A&E released a statement saying “We are extremely disappointed to have read Phil Robertson’s comments in GQ, which are based on his own personal beliefs and are not reflected in the series Duck Dynasty. His personal views in no way reflect those of A+E Networks, who have always been strong supporters and phil-robertsonchampions of the LGBT community.”

I’m interested to see how this all pans out.  Duck Dynasty is A&E’s top show and Phil Robertson is its biggest star...

GLAAD Not Happy, Happy, Happy

It looks like Phil Robertson has gotten himself in a bit of trouble with the gay rights groups.  In a magazine article published in the January 2013 GQ magazine, Phil speaks his mind like he always does, and says that homosexuality is sin and that it is illogical.

Phil said  “Everything is blurred on what’s right and what’s wrong.  Sin becomes fine.  Start with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there. Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men,” he tells the magazine. Paraphrasing Corinthians, he says, “Don’t be deceived. Neither the adulterers, the idolaters, the male prostitutes, the homosexual offenders, the greedy, the drunkards, the slanderers, the swindlers—they won’t inherit the kingdom of God. Don’t deceive yourself...

Snubbed?

Several articles have been headlining their stories with the word “snubbed”, implying that Phil and Jase Robertson had some sort of issue or concern appearing on Barbara Walter’s list of Fascinating People of 2013 television special.   It’s not that at all.  Jase and Phil were not in New York with the rest of the family to appear in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and film the Walter’s special because they were back home doing what they love most – hunting.  Alan, the oldest son, said that Jase and Phil meant no disrespect to Barbara Walters.  “When it comes to Dad and Jase, ducks trump just about anything from late November to late January, it’s just the way they roll!”, he said.

Miss Kay even tells Barbara on the show that “Between November and January, I told him I didn’t ever ...
