Now that Thanksgiving is over and we’re heading into the final weeks before Christmas,  I thought it would be appropriate for me and Si Robertson, to tell everyone about an organization that does a lot of good with it’s “Pack A Shoebox” campaign.  The Samaritan’s Purse organization is a non-denominational evangelical Christian organization providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world. One of their projects is their Operation Christmas Child.  This year, Si Robertson has made a few videos to help promote their effort to get shoeboxes full of Christmas gifts to needy children around the world.  Although the campaign’s national collection period was from Nov 18-24, it is still not too late to fill a shoebox by building one online at Build Your Shoebox Online.

Alan Robertson, the clean shaven oldest brother of the Robertson clan, left his church of 20 years to join the Duck Commander crew. He says that he is able to reach more people through his work at Duck Commander than he was able to at the White’s Ferry Road Church of Christ. “To have a great church is good,” Alan’s wife Lisa said. “But there is people out there that’s not ever going to darken the doors that we have here. And they may not ever darken the doors of any church building.”

“And so,” she continued, “if we can give them a little taste of Christianity, a little taste of God, but in a fun way to tell them that just because you are a Christian doesn’t mean that you can’t have loads of fun and laugh all the time and just enjoy what God’s given you.”

Al Robertson, the other member of the Robertson family, appears to be joining the hit TV show in Season for this fall. Al Robertson is often referred to as the “other brother.” He’s been a mystery to most fans and not as easily recognizable (he’s the man without the beard in the photo below).

Al is the oldest brother and actually help Phil build Duck Commander during it’s earliest days. Al left the duck call business to pursue full-time ministry. But now he’s back and ready to join the crew.
